- Jan 24, 1990. The first Aborigine to win a gold medal at an international athletics event.
- Jan 1, 1992. The first Aborigine to represent Australia at the Olympic Games.
- Jan 1, 1998. Awarded '' Australian of the Year.''
- Jan 1, 2000. The first Aborigine to light the flame.
- Jul 15, 2003. Cathy Freeman Retires.

ACHIEVEMENTS
1. 1990 Commonwealth Games Cathy won a gold medal for 400
2. She is the first female Aboriginal and Australian to win a gold medal
3. Cathy Freeman win the 200 metres and the 400 metres at the Commonwealth Games .
4. Cathy Freeman ran with two flags, the Aboriginal flag and the Australian flag.
5. Cathy carried both flags around the track. The people loved it, with three out of four agreeing with her action.
6. At the World Athletic Championships in 1999, Cathy successfully defended her 400 metres.
7. Cathy was given the torch at the Olympics and was the first aboriginal to carry the flame.
